Cove Springs Park and Nature Preserve-Frankfort, KY
The park consists of 240 acres of wetlands, streams and springs. There are two waterfalls, Hurst Falls and Cove Spring Falls. This site was previously a reservoir that served as the primary drinking water source for Frankfort and still contains remains of the original water works in various stages of disrepair. The most prominent artifacts are the stone dam and limestone overflow tower, but other waterworks ruins can be found throughout the park
