First opened to the public in 1996, the Elk & Bison Prairie at Land Between The Lakes represents a restoration of a native habitat that was lost more than a century ago. While elk and bison roam this 700-acre area freely, it's also home to numerous other wildlife species which thrive in the prairie, such as wild turkeys, a variety of birds, small game, and prairie mammals. The Elk & Bison Prairie is open from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year. The fee to enter is $5 per car. A great Kentucky one tank place to visit. On our last visit we also saw elk. All I can say... it was an awesome trip!
